LaMar Clarence Bailey passed away on Mar 24, 2017 surrounded by his loving wife, Lawauna and some of his children. LaMar was born on May 10, 1932 in Salt Lake City Utah to Albert Clarence Bailey and Jordis Louise Torgersen. He grew up in South Salt Lake where they lived on Malvern Avenue.
When he was 18 he joined the Military and was an Army Paratrooper in the 11th Airborne Division in Fort Campbell Kentucky.
After his military service he met and married Darlene Albiston Nelson on October 30, 1954. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple in 1965.
LaMar became very active in Scouting program for about 20 + years. He was awarded the Silver Beehive award.
LaMar provided for his family as a carpenter framing houses all over the Salt Lake Valley. He named his business, “L.C. Bailey Builders”, and his sons spent many hours working with their Dad.
After his wife Darlene passed away he met Lawauna Morgan Resare and they were married on September 29, 1984.
LaMar’s life was plagued with many health problems, but during all of these hard trials he never lost his faith and testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
LaMar was preceded in death by his wife Darlene, his little brother, his parents and his brothers, Harry Bailey and Ronald Bailey and his sister, Betty Haight. He is survived by his wife, Lawauna, his children; Lee (Shelley) Bailey, Terri (Steve) Van Roosendal, Cindy (Brad) Mattson, Diana (Rich) Coy, Glenn (Tonya) Bailey, Mark Resare, Duane (Della) Resare, Colette (David) Fillmore, and brothers; Keith Bailey, (Clarice), Thomas Bailey (LeJoyce), and sisters, Darlene Monson (Jack), and Carol Hansen (John). LaMar counted his children and Lawauna’s children as one family. He liked to say he had 8 children, 28 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren. He loved every one of them and they brought him much joy.
There will be a viewing 6:00pm to 8:00 pm Monday March 27, 2017 at Russon Mortuary, 1941 Main Street Farmington, UT. The funeral will be 11:00 am Tuesday March 28, 2017 at the Farmington Chapel 980 Shepard Church Dr, Farmington UT. Burial will be at the Redwood Memorial Estates cemetery on 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan Utah. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Boy Scouts of America.
