LaMar Abraham Day passed away peacefully at his home on October 23, 2023, surrounded by family members.

LaMar was born in 1934 to Abraham and Pearl Day in Salina, Utah, and grew up in Central Utah. He attended Carbon College. He worked for a time selling office supplies, and while working to open an office in Pocatello, Idaho, he met and fell in love with his future wife, Marlene. They were married several months later in the Idaho Falls Temple. LaMar continued to work and go to school. He graduated from Weber State University with a degree in accounting.

LaMar loved helping others and served throughout his life in various capacities. He was very involved with the Boy Scouts of America, and served as a Scout Master three times, and as District Commissioner of the Indian Springs District. He received the Silver Beaver award in recognition of his many years of service to the Boy Scouts.

LaMar loved his Savior, Jesus Christ, and served as a Bishop, High Councilor, and various other callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In his youth, he served as a missionary in the Northern California Mission, and later served with his wife, Marlene, in the Philippines Cabanatuan Mission.

Family was of the upmost importance to LaMar. He was very involved in family history, and served as President of the PW Cook Family Organization for many years, and as an officer of the Onstott Family Organization. He and Marlene loved attending the temple together, and attended weekly at the Bountiful Temple.

Some of his favorite things were photography, fishing, ice-cream, and Raisin Bran.

LaMar is survived by his wife, Marlene, their five children: Annette (Dale), Cheryl (Bob), Brent (Louise), Eileen (Neal), and Gary (Heather), 20 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

An evening viewing will be held Sunday, October 29, 2023, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Russon Mortuary, 295 N. Main, Bountiful, Utah. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 30, 2023, at the Val Verda Stake Center, 2651 South 500 West in Bountiful, with a viewing from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the stake center prior to services.

Services will be streamed live on the Russon Mortuary & Crematory Facebook page and on this obituary page. The live stream will begin 10-15 minutes before the services and will be posted below.
