LaMonte “Bud” Sant born on August 26, 1929 died on August 18, 2013. He was surrounded by his family and went peacefully. Bud was born in Thatcher, Idaho to Archie and Evelyn Sant and has two sisters Donna Prescot and Klea Metcalf. He grew up in Pocatello, Idaho where he went to high school and attended Idaho State University in 1948. He served an LDS mission in Brazil and always had a great love for the people of Brazil. When Bud returned from his mission, he attended BYU in Provo, were he got his Bachelor’s degree in Portuguese in 1954. Shortly after, he married and was then, drafted into the Army. He served our country for 2 yrs. as a code-breaker. Bud had 4 girls, Susanne, Jeane, Kathy, and Shari. He was Bishop of the 18th and 41st wards in Bountiful, Utah from 1969 to 1974. Later in life he remarried and adopted two children from Seoul, Korea, Joseph and Jennie. He also had 5 step-children, Michael, Bryan, Kent, Eric, and Lynn Anne. Bud loved his career of selling Life Insurance and was the Agency Manager at Beneficial Life where he worked for 20 years. He was generous with his time and loved his family and friends. He was always willing to help whenever needed. Bud felt blessed he was able to fulfill his love for traveling and visited many places around the world. He loved to play golf and would do this weekly with many of his friends. Friends were very important to Bud and he cherished them greatly. However, Bud’s greatest passion was his horses. He had many horses throughout his lifetime but Annie and Candy where his two favorites. He would have ridden horse’s everyday if he could have. Bud is survived by his sisters, children, and 14 grandchildren.
Funeral Services and Viewings will be held at Russon Brothers Mortuary 295 N. Main Bountiful, UT. A viewing will be held on Friday, Aug. 23 from 6-8pm and Saturday 12:45 – 1:45 pm prior to services. The funeral will be on Saturday, Aug. 24 at 2pm. The interment will be at the Bountiful City Cemetery at 3:15pm. Friends and family are welcome to attend. Online guest book at www.russonmortuary.com.
