Lance L. Hyatt, 83, passed away early Saturday morning, February 26, 2011 at his daughters home in Bountiful, Utah. His loving family surrounded him during the time of passing. Lance was born in Gunnison, Utah to Lance N. and Annie Adella Decker Hyatt. He was the seventh of nine children. He served in the Navy during World War II. After returning home, he met his sweetheart Luraine Hatch. They were married on October 30, 1948, and later solemnized their marriage in the Manti LDS Temple. They celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary before Luraine passed away in November of 2004. Lance worked for several trucking companies during his career and by 1954 he was able to start his own business. He owned and operated Hyatt Trucking. He hauled livestock throughout the western states for many years. He built all of his own trailers as well as many trailers for other truckers. He maintained all of his own equipment. As his company grew, he was able to provide employment to many drivers who over the years have become life long friends. Lance and Luraine had many friends known as The Gang. The couples spent many years enjoying each others company and snow-birding in southern Arizona. Lance was a member of the LDS Church. He is survived by his daughters, Norma Dean Hansen and Teresa Aller (Matt); 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Rulon and Gene; and sister Opal Nielsen. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, and siblings, LaVel, Morlan, Elmo, Dearrel, and Elvona. After six long years he has finally been reunited with his sweetheart. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at LDS Hospital east eight department, for their kindness and loving care. We would also like to thank Dr. Scott Samuelsen, Dr. Ann Jefferds, Dr. Jan Christensen, the IHC Home Health Care in Gunnison, and the Vista Care Hospice Staff. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, March 5, 2001 at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main where friends may call from 10:30-11:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment-Bountiful City Cemetery.
