Lani Delbert Murdock passed away unexpectedly on August 21st, 2023. He was born on September 3rd, 1965, with his identical twin brother, Todd Murdock, in Ventura, California. After a few years there, his family moved back to Utah and lived in Ogden. Lani was part of a large family of 7 children. The family then moved from Ogden to Bountiful, Utah, while Lani was in Elementary School.
Lani loved skateboarding, fishing, and biking. He grew up as an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He played Little League Football and was active in the Boy Scout Program. He graduated from Bountiful High School. He had a great sense of humor and would sometimes use the identity of his twin brother Todd to fool others. They shared a special bond and stayed close during Lani's life. You could usually find Lani and Todd together. As they got older, they would still make time to talk daily.
Lani had a great career as a cook and enjoyed working at ski resorts and country clubs. He could often be found helping and serving others. He was a great mechanic and always came to the aid of friends and family when they needed vehicle repairs. He always had a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye. He loved the outdoors. You would find him quite often biking in the foothills of Utah. He loved exploring old settlements and looking for hand-made glass bottles. He really enjoyed hanging out with friends and family and spending quality time with his sons, Jesse and Liam, and other loved ones.
He is survived by his children, Jesse, and Liam; his siblings, Mike (Jessica) Murdock, Todd (Lisa) Murdock, Jana (Mark) Pendleton and Jodi (Brett) Benson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his brothers Ladd and Brandon, and his parents Michael and Deanna Murdock. Lani, until we meet again, you will be greatly missed! Thank you to friends and family for your loving support during this time.
Graveside services and interment will take place at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 7th, 2023, at Memorial Lakeview Cemetery, 1640 Lakeview Drive, Bountiful, Utah, 84010.
