LaRae Crosland, 81, passed away peacefully March 14, 2014 in Bountiful, UT.
LaRae was born to Adria and Edna Ahlstrom on May 9, 1932 in Kanosh, Utah. She married Maynard Stevens Crosland June 6, 1950 and they were later sealed in the Manti Temple. She was and always will be his princess and queen. They loved each other and enjoyed the time they had together, especially when it included their family and their horses. After Maynard’s death in 2007, she moved to an assisted living center where she met her second husband, Ed Vandevere. They enjoyed three wonderful years together before his passing in 2012.
LaRae was a great friend to all, welcoming many new people into her arms and heart as immediate friends. She served in many callings in her church. She especially enjoyed her time in the Stake MIA, as a member of her ward Relief Society Presidency, and as a temple worker in the Salt Lake Temple. She was very dedicated to her family, an immaculate homemaker, and loved all animals. For many years she cared for her aging parents with love and service. With the help of her second husband Ed, she spent hours each day (when not home teaching) studying the Gospel of Jesus Christ learning more of what she has always believed.
She will be forever remembered by her big hugs, squeaky kisses, and a genuine smile.
LaRae leaves behind two children, Kathy (Mark) Tenhoeve, Bountiful, and Jeffery (Bonnie) Crosland, Kaysville, 8 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. She is also survived by Ed’s children, David (Diane) Vandevere, Bountiful, and Julie Vandevere, Bloomsburg, PA. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, her parents, and her only brother, Warren Ahlstrom.
A Viewing will be held on Wednesday night, Mar 19, 2014 from 6-8 pm at the Russon Brothers Mortuary located at 295 North Main in Bountiful, UT and also on Thursday morning before the funeral from 9:30-10:45. The Funeral will be held on Thursday, Mar 20, 2014 at 11 a.m. at her LDS Oak Hills Ward on 455 S 1200 E, Bountiful, UT. Interment at the Bountiful City Cemetery.
