Larry Carl Holmquist

Larry Carl Holmquist- loving husband, beloved father and devoted grandfather- passed away after a fierce but courageous battle with cancer. He was 68. He took his last breath, peacefully surrounded by his family, on June 04, 2021 at his home in Layton, Utah.

If you were in trouble, he was the one you feared most. He was also the first one to make sure you were okay. Even if he was still mad at you, he would make sure you had everything you needed. Larry loved his wife Jacque immensely, and he made sure to show that every chance he could. He bragged more than anyone about his grandchildren and their achievements. He was a proud father and even prouder grandfather who never missed a game, concert, play, or a graduation.

Larry was born September 26, 1952 in Van Nuys, California to Charles “Bud” and Verna Holmquist. He grew up with his two sisters, Torey Holmquist and Lori Fusina. His memory will be cherished and kept alive as he leaves behind a grand legacy. He is survived by his loving wife, Jacqueline Anne (Wilcox) Holmquist. His 5 children and their families; Jaci Skidmore (Jeff), Bryce Holmquist (Charity), Amy Lane (Barry), Katie Robertson (Darrin), and Travis Holmquist (Candice). He is also survived by his beloved 13 grandchildren; Madison, Jackson, Jaden, Logan, Hanna, Addyson, Elliana, Oliver, Sadie, Marlo, Preston, Aubrey, and Brooklyn.

Larry was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. He humbly served from 1970-1973 and was honorably discharged. It was while serving that he met and married his beloved wife, Jacque and they shared nearly 48 years together. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, he is forever and eternally sealed to her. He will be remembered for his everlasting love for his wife, his endless jokes, his love for baseball, especially the Los Angeles Dodgers, and his ability to make up songs for each one of his grandkids!

Friends and family are invited to celebrate and honor Larry at a gathering at the Lakeland Ward, 2300 University Park Blvd., Layton, UT, on Saturday, June 19^th from 10-11:00a.m., followed by his service at 11:30 a.m.
