On the 24 Sep 2010, Larry Adams Gregory slipped peacefully into eternity at his home in Centerville, Utah, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born 26 Mar 1946 in Ogden, Weber, Utah to LeGrande (Dan) E Gregory and Barbara Boylin Adams. Larry was raised in Farmington, Utah, the ancestral home of his paternal grandparents Elijah B Gregory and Julia Ellen Tree. Larry grew to maturity in this lovely community and served as Chief of the Farmington City Fire Department for many years, including a short period between 1971-1978 where he served for a time as Assistant Chief. He loved his job, loved the personnel of the fire department, and his comrades in the Davis County Fire Officers Association. Many close bonds have been formed through these associations as well as those within Farmington City government. Larry graduated from Davis High School and the University of Utah where he was active in collegiate sports. He married Meledie Duncan, 20 Apr 1977 in the Ogden Temple. His passing leaves a void in many hearts, particularly for his family and many close and dear friends. He is survived by his sweetheart of 34 years, Meledie, son, Spencer (Meghan), step sons, Wade (Kim) and Dan Hansen, and foster son, Francis J. Cardy, Jr as well as two granddaughters, Allie and Samantha, Sister Barbara Jean (Kent) Dibble, and brothers, Douglas (Danna), Roger (Terri), and Matt (Lisa) Gregory. Uncles and aunts, Harold A Gregory and Josephine Gregory of St George, Milton J Hess, of Farmington, Spence and Clytie Adams, of Kaysville, Robert and Dorthy Killpack, of Sandy, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was Preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Michael Dan Gregory. Larry was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day-Saints, serving with enthusiasm and love in various positions, including scouting advisor, bishops councilor, young mens advisor and primary teacher. He loved his family; he loved the gospel, good jokes, children, and people. He was the illustrious president of the E.I.E.I.O, and served in the capacity for many years. Funeral services will be held at the Centerville North Stake Center, 1461 North Main Street, on Thursday, at 11:00 A.M.
