LaRue Satterthwaite Paul

June 3, 1933 — November 8, 2015

Our angel Mother, Grandmother and Friend, LaRue Satterthwaite Paul, passed away November 8, 2015 surrounded by many who loved and adored her. LaRue was born to Frank Hodges Satterthwaite and Gwen Wamsley Satterthwaite on June 3, 1933 in Garden City, UT.  She was the oldest of three children and an adoring older sister to her two younger brothers.
LaRue grew up in Logan, UT. where she graduated from Logan High and attended Utah State University. She married Robert “Bud” Hobson Paul in the Logan Temple on July 28, 1952. Together they raised 6 children. LaRue was an avid sports fan and attended Jazz games as a season ticket holder for over 25 years. LaRue had a deep love of music and even made a deal with Bud that for every season ticket he got to a sporting event, she got one to the symphony or a musical production. She also loved to travel with her husband and family. She had the opportunity to travel to Europe, Israel, Australia and New Zealand and enjoyed cruises to the Caribbean, Mexican Riviera and most recently to the Panama Canal for her 80th birthday. However, her favorite place was the Paul family cabin on Hebgen Lake in Montana.
LaRue loved the Lord and served Him as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her callings included Relief Society and Young Women’s President and service in the Bountiful Temple with her husband Bud.
LaRue was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bud Paul and great-grandson Evan Brandon Cleverley. She is survived by her brothers: DeLoyd F. Satterthwaite (Kimberly) and LaVon “Von” W. Satterthwaite (MarRae); and her six children, Robert Bradford “Brad”, Paul (Mary), Denise Cleverley (Steve), DeLoy Frank Paul (Karrie), Michelle Wood (Von), Bryan Rodney Paul (Andrea) and Alyson Deussen (George); 26 precious grandchildren: 47 sweet great-grandchildren and many treasured nieces and nephews.
LaRue was an incredibly loving, generous daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Her kind spirit will be missed but we are comforted knowing what a joyous reunion there was in Heaven when she arrived.
The family would like to thank Wendy with Aspire Home Health and Hospice, as well as her countless nurses, CNA’s, and aides for the kindness and love that they gave to our sweet mother.
Her funeral will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 14, 2015 at the Mueller Park Stake Center, 1800 East Mueller Park Rd., Bountiful. A viewing will be held Friday evening from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful and Saturday morning 10-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services.
