Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister Laura June Taylor Larsen passed away on November 24, 2024, in Bountiful, Utah, due to causes related to Dementia. Laura was born on March 21, 1949, in Salt Lake City to James and June Burns Taylor. She was a Bountiful resident her entire life. She married Scott Larsen on May 29, 1970, and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple.
Laura was a graduate of Bountiful High School. Following high school, she attended and graduated from Weber State College. Over the years, she obtained degrees in Art, History, Education, Special Ed., and Gerontology. She loved music and singing and participated in many groups including the Mormon Youth Chorus, Weber State Chorus, Jay Welch Chorale and the Utah Opera. She also played the organ, piano and the accordion. Laura was a talented artist and her artwork was on display at many exhibitions, fairs and art centers over the years.
Laura taught various subjects at the preschool, elementary and junior high levels. She worked with adults with special needs helping them succeed in their employment. She was also a longtime member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers organization and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in various callings within the Relief Society, Sunday School and Primary.
Laura is survived by her three children, Scott Jr. (Sherice) Larsen, Bergetta (Donald) Jennings, and Andrew (Abby) Larsen; her siblings Della Mae (Phil) Keil, James (Claire) Taylor, Becky (Robert) Jensen, and Leslee (Jack) Bird; and her 13 grandchildren and one great-grandson. She is preceded in death by her husband Scott and her parents James and June Taylor.
A funeral will be held 10:00 am Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, Utah. A viewing will be held from 8:45-9:45 a.m. at the mortuary prior to services Saturday. Interment will follow at the Bountiful City Cemetery.
