Laurel Johnson Craig

Laurel Johnson Craig- Bountiful, devoted Mother and Grandmother passed away on January 27, 2016 due to natural causes.  Born on April 21, 1925 in Winchester, Massachusetts, the daughter of Albert Frederick and Clara Dorothy Johnson.  Laurel married Earl Powell Duffin in Camp LeJuene, North Carolina on July 1, 1945. They later divorced. Laurel married Donald Francis Craig on April 16, 1966. She worked for the Department of Transportation Federal Aviation Administration as an Executive Administrative Secretary and as Senior Computer Operator for a total of 29 years. She retired from the Federal Government in 1986.

After she retired, she traveled to Europe, Asia, Australia, Hawaii, Mexico, and several other destinations within the United States. She had a great time doing this with her spouse, sisters, brothers, nieces, children, and grandchildren. She especially enjoyed visiting family on the East and West Coasts.   Many of us have fond memories of those visits and her zest for life.

Laurel was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She wanted all of us be successful in our well intentioned goals and desires. She was always willing to help us when she could. She will be greatly missed. We are grateful that we had her influence in our lives and many fond memories that we can look back and smile upon.

Preceded in death by husbands Earl, Donald, her parents, Sisters, Dorothy, Mildred, Thelma, Evelyn, Betty, brothers Albert (Buddy), and Donald. She was the last of her siblings to pass on. She is survived by sons: Earl P Duffin Jr. Jeffery B. Duffin, Michael D. Duffin and spouse Karla Duffin, 8 grandchildren, and 13 great grand children 

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, January 30th, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 South 200 West, Bountiful. There will be a viewing from 9:45 to 10:30 at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main Street, Bountiful.
