Lawrence B. Briggs passed away quietly with his family at his side on Tuesday, June 3, 2008. Born October 28, 1913 to Levi E. and Selina May Bennett Briggs. Dad met and married his eternal companion Helen K. Howe on February 25, 1938 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were proud parents of 4 children, Julie, Bette, Craig deceased and Bruce. Dad will be remembered for his love, compassion and gentle spirit. Together he and mom built a firm foundation for their family. Dad was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he had many Church callings. The one most loved was being a Stake Missionary with mom. Dad is survived by his daughter, Julie; son, Bruce; brother, Alvin and sister, Barbara; 9 grandchildren, Teri Jay, Trudy, Jay Cathy, Michelle, Lesa, Byron Natalie, Robby, Mike and Halee; 7 great-grandchildren, Megan, Shane, Lindsey, Carly, Jayden, Michael and Zoe; 2 great-great grandchildren, Kolby and Kinley; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He will be deeply missed. Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Helen; mother and father; brother, Leo; 2 sisters and 1 brother who died in infancy; son, Craig; daughter, Bette and her husband, Michael; daughter-in-law Christie, and grandson, Todd. The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses for their exceptional care. The neighbors who have kept a watchful &qoute;eye&qoute; over the past years. A special thanks to South Davis Hospice for their tender care of dad in his last hours at Orchard Cove, for the comfort and loving support they gave to each one of us. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, June 7, 2008 at the Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 South 200 West. Friends and family may call Friday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main and Saturday morning from 10:30– 11:30 a.m. prior to services. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Arthritis Foundation of Utah.
