Lawrence Joseph Olsen

December 3, 1939 — July 4, 2018

Our loving husband, Father, Grandpa and Great Grandpa passed away unexpectedly on July 4, 2018.

Born December 3,1939, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Lawrence Clifford and Ora Mae Frehner Olsen.

Married Geraldine Burningham September 11, 1969 in the Salt Lake City Temple.

He was raised in Woods Cross area and went to school there. He graduated from Bountiful High. He also attended BYU where he was in the ROTC. He served a mission for the LDS church in the Eastern Central States Mission. He enlisted in the Air Force where he served nearly 4 years. He later went back as a civilian to Hill Air Force Base where he worked as an Electrical Engineer.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being in the outdoors with his Father and brothers. He loved gardening, cooking, and spending time with his family.

He was an active faithful member all his life. He enjoyed his callings. He instructed for the Elders quorum. Served with his wife as the ward librarian, in the nursery, and 3 years as service missionaries in the South Davis Care Center.

He is survived by his wife Geraldine, two sons, Gary (Kaylynn) and Stephen (Kari), four grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Six brothers and one sister. Preceded in death by his parents, sister Barbara Heaton and brother Dennis Olsen.

A viewing with be held Tuesday July 10, 2018 from 6-8pm at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main Street in Bountiful. Funeral services will be held Wednesday July 11, 2018 at 11am in the Bountiful 41st Ward, 33 South Moss Hill Drive, with a viewing from 9:45-10:45am. Interment, Bountiful City Cemetery.
