Lee Williamsen

Biography

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Leland Clair Williamsen Jr., age 68, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, October 22, 2014, after struggling with Alzheimer’s.

Born and raised in Ogden Utah to L. Clair and Yvonne Williamsen, where he attended schools until his graduation from Ogden High School. He fulfilled an LDS Mission to Ireland and attended college at Weber State, BYU and the University of Utah. He was actively involved in the M-Men and Gleaner program before it was changed to Young Adults. He was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints having served in many leadership positions throughout his life.

In 1973, he married his “dearest” April Jensen and they are the parents of four children. He had a love of music, having sung in the Ogden Utah Boys Choir in his youth and playing the string bass in high school and college. He was a big fan of Gilbert & Sullivan Operettas which he listened to while driving across the country. Lee loved a good conversation with friends and neighbors and we enjoyed his boisterous laughter. He loved building blocks and creating elaborate towers with his children and grand children. His greatest loves were his children: Amy and Karl Menssen, Cameron and Amy Williamsen, Laurie and Greg Lorenzon, Drew and Alecia Williamsen, and his twelve grandchildren.

A viewing will be held Sunday evening, October 26th, at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main Street, Bountiful, from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Funeral services will be Monday October 27th at 11 A.M., a viewing will be held one hour prior at Barton Creek Ward building, 640 South 750 East Bountiful.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the LDS Church PEF or Missionary Fund.
