Bountiful, UT- Our beloved Mother, LeIsle, 90, passed away peacefully from this life, on June 18th, 2018 surrounded by her family who loved and honored her. She was born August 27, 1927 in Salt Lake City, Utah and sealed to parents, Harold and Amy Blunt in the Salt Lake Temple.
LeIsle and her little sister, Geniel, grew up in Salt Lake City where their Father worked for the Deseret News and their Mother catered events. They were nurtured by their parents and taught the gospel. LeIsle was true and faithful and loving and caring her whole life and she was a great influence on her family.
She graduated from East High and later worked for ZCMI as a secretary and a model.
She married her high school sweetheart Max Ray Ericksen, in the Salt Lake Temple on June 25, 1947. Max was a veteran of the U.S. Navy who served during World War II. They moved to Woods Cross and then to Bountiful where they raised 5 children: Greg (Denise), Mike (Cheri), K.C. (Nancy), Robyn (David) Beck, Steven (Lucinda).
She helped Max start and operate various successful businesses which provided employment for hundreds of associates whom they considered as extended family. LeIsle loved to travel with her family, and each summer the family would load up and camp all over the west. Later she was blessed to travel with Max all over the world for business and pleasure. They also enjoyed gathering with their children and grandchildren at their ranch near Flaming Gorge to provide fun and memorable family experiences.
LeIsle was an active member of the LDS Church and served faithfully in Relief Society and Primary callings. She served with her eternal companion in the Philippines Manila Mission. This was a special season for them as they enjoyed serving as 'member locators' and they dearly loved the people there. They served with the same vigor and dedication that they exemplified in all aspects of their lives. Following their mission they continued to help many families.
LeIsle had a vast array of talents and used them to bless her family and everyone she saw in need. She was a talented musician with a beautiful voice and played the Hawaiian steel guitar and ukulele. She taught and lived the principles of the gospel. She truly knew what it means to “minister.” A miracle enabled her to be raised by Harold and Amy and that in turn blessed each one of us. We are grateful for her love and life, and we miss her so much.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother; her husband Max Ericksen of 66 years and grandson’s, Adam Ericksen, and Kristopher Ericksen. Survived by her sister Geniel Lloyd (Wayne), 5 children and their spouses, 24 grandchildren and 54 great grandchildren.
Services will be held at the LDS Chapel at 640 South 750 East Saturday, June 23, 2018. Friends and family may visit between 9:30 – 10:45 a.m, followed by a service at 11:00 am.
Interment will be at the Bountiful City Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers please donate to the LDS Church missionary fund or a charity of your choice.
