Leland Moss

Van passed away peacefully at home at the age of 95 years on January 17, 2013. Van was born on May 22, 1917 to Martha Arvena Jones and Stephen Moss. He was the youngest of six children. He married Romaine Smith on March 3, 1939 in the Salt Lake Temple. They were looking forward to celebrating their 74th wedding anniversary in seven weeks.
He worked for Producers Livestock Marketing Association from 1936 to 2008 except for the years from 1961 to 1965 when he and his family moved to Albany, Georgia to manage the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints cattle feed yard and farming operation.
He served his country in the US Army for three years during World War II where he was in charge of a medical detachment unit in the Philippines. He also served faithfully in many Church callings. He enjoyed farming, gardening, going to the cabin in Wyoming, having a good horse, but most of all he loved being with his family.
Besides his parents and siblings he was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Andrena. He is survived by his wife Romaine; daughters Karen (Jan Price), Cynthia (Denis Hopkinson), and Amy (Brad Dobson); son Russell Moss (Connie); 15 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
The Funeral Service and Viewing will be held at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main Bountiful, Utah. The viewing will be held Tuesday, January 22, 10 am to 12:30 pm. The Funeral Services will follow at 1 pm. Interment will be at the Bountiful Cemetery.
