Leo was born to Clyde Harley Wilcox and Blanche Clark in Farmington, Utah and passed away peacefully in Farmington. He graduated from Davis High School in 1945, then was drafted into the Army during WWII. Upon his honorable discharge he was called to serve in the Palestine Syrian Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He married Rosemary Crowther on May 2, 1952 in the Logan LDS Temple. He graduated from Brigham Young University and after teaching LDS Seminary in Mesa, AZ and History at Evanston High School in WY, he made a career as a Civilian Personnel Position Classification Specialist and supervisor at Hill Air Force Base. His employment took his family to Chateauroux, France for 3 years and to Tachikawa, Itazuke, and Hakata in Japan for 5 years, where he was the Civilian Personnel Officer at both Itazuke and Hakata.
Leo and Rosemary also served in the Ogden LDS Temple, and Missions in Belgium Brussels, (Luxembourg), and Adam-ondi-Ahman, where he could drive a tractor and wear his coveralls – fitting for someone who was raised on a farm, milking cows. It’s no wonder that he always had a grip that could crush your hand if he wasn’t careful – even right up until the end of his life. He was a man of integrity, who loved the Lord and his family. He had a great work ethic. His testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ was strong and he knew and loved the scriptures. He served in many callings, including Branch and District Presidents and Bishoprics.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rosemary, his children, Rosanne, Lamont (Heidi), (Debra), Randy (Nicole), Ray (Pam), and Julie (Bob); his 28 grandchildren plus their spouses, 39 great-grandchildren, with 3 more on the way; siblings Lugean, Anne, Ralph (Brigitte), Winn (Ann), Charlynn (James), and in-laws: Sherry, Judy, Sharolyn and Vella (Keith).
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Guy, and his two brothers, Harlow (Earlene) and Cordell; and in-laws, (Russell), (Richard), Junius and Mary Crowther, Junius, Carol (Dee), Carma (Lloyd), Wilford (Marjean), and Sheldon.
The family wishes to thank Caregiver’s Support Network and Natalie Ward for helping to make it possible for him to be at home.
