Leola Forsberg

Leola Young Forsberg, 87, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend passed away January 2, 2005 surrounded by her children. Leola was born February 12, 1918 in Salt Lake City to Joseph Leroy Young and Lila Bernice Barber Young. She attended school in the Salt Lake area and graduated from South High School. She married Francis R. Forsberg in the Salt Lake LDS Temple September 23, 1937. She ?survived? raising 5 children, Ruth, Robert, Linda, Jean Ann died at age 2 , and Laurel. She had the opportunity of serving in many church callings including Relief Society President, temple worker, director at the Beehive House, and ward organist for many years. She loved singing in choirs and performing with friends. She had a talent for handwork of any kind and shared the beautiful things she made with family and friends. In the last few years her eyesight was greatly diminished, but with the help of some dear friends, she was able to make many quilts for needy children. She was a wonderful homemaker and excellent cook. She dedicated her life to her family. We love you, Mom. She is survived by children Ruth Gary Tingey; Robert Merl Lyn Forsberg, Linda Roger Matern, Laurel Lee Duncan; 20 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren. The family extends special thanks for tireless service to Dr. Val Hansen, Vista Care Hospice, the staff at Lakeview Hospital, the Inn on Barton Creek, caring neighbors and friends. We also express our heartfelt gratitude to her grandchildren for countless meals, visits, yard-care parties, and quiet service. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 7, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Centerville 3rd Ward Chapel, 900 South 400 East, Centerville. Friends may call Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, and Friday morning from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. at the church prior to services.
