Leone Ellis Campbell passed away November 22, 2014, at age 91. She was born to Robert and Lucy Ellis in Topaz, Idaho. The family moved to Morgan, Utah to farm and ranch; she grew up there. She worked at the Ogden Ordinance Depot and Hill Field during WWII. She was married for a short time to Fredrick Burk. He was a casualty of war in the Pacific. After WWII, while working at Hill Field, she met the love of her life, Jesse Campbell. They were married in 1946 and moved to Salt Lake City to start a family. Lee worked as a secretary at East High and Bryant and Lincoln Jr. High Schools. Later, she was the secretary at Partners Automotive Warehouse. Lee began to lose her eyesight to Macular Degeneration in 1985 and that forced her to retire. Thanks to the Library for the Blind, Lee was able to continue her love of reading by listening to books for the past 25 years. Lee was a wonderful mother and grandma who loved her family dearly. She was very independent, optimistic, unselfish, and witty.
Her husband Jesse, of 50 years, her parents, sister, and two brothers preceded Lee in death. Lee is survived by, her sister Beth Fry, two sons, Jonathon D. (Carol), K. Craig (Heather), grandson Garrett Jesse, two step grandsons Adam (Jessica) and Nathan (Sadie) Green, and five great grandchildren.
Thanks to Dr. Joseph Jensen and his staff for keeping her healthy for so long and her loving caregivers at Legacy House of Bountiful. Rest in peace Mom.
