LeRae Bulkley Perkins

LeRae Joyce Bulkley Perkins, age 81, passed away at home among family members in Fruit Heights, Utah on August 6, 2017. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on September 20, 1935 to Clifford L. & Sybil Geneva Hanson Bulkley. She is preceded in death by her parents; four sisters (Ardella Anna Brandt, Geneva Lee Houchins, Verna Mae Perkins, Patricia Amelia Pritchett) and one brother (Marlon Vernon Bulkley). She is survived by her husband, Merl D. Perkins; sons, Ronald C (Tammy) Perkins of Erda, Utah, Wayne D. (Alison) Perkins, Liberty, Utah, Allen Leon (Sherri) Perkins, Hardin, Montana, Douglas Hal Perkins, Bountiful, Utah; one daughter, Susan Kay Cleaver of Fruit Heights, Utah; 17 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
LeRae grew up in the Davis County area graduating from Davis High School. Merl and LeRae were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on October 12, 1951. She lived with her in-laws when Merl was drafted into the military and sent to Korea. When Merl returned they moved to Chicago, Illinois for schooling which is where their first child, Ron was born. They have lived in Farmington, Kearns, Bountiful, Woods Cross, Willard and Fruit Heights. She was active in the LDS Church serving in many callings. Family was very important to LeRae. She enjoyed doing family history and temple work for deceased family members. LeRae loved to travel, shop, camp, crafts and making quilts for family members. Girls Day Out with her sisters, and later he daughter and niece, was an important monthly event.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 11, 2017 at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, where a viewing will be held Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Friday morning 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment-Lakeview Cemetery.
