Leslie Tuttle Foy

January 21, 1934 — November 23, 2015

Leslie Tuttle Foy, 81 of Farmington, Utah returned with honor to heaven on November 23, 2015 after complications from a stroke. He was born in Bountiful, Utah on January 21, 1934 to Leslie Thomas Foy and Florence Tuttle. He married Connie Mary Waddoups on March 21, 1957.

Leslie graduated from the University of Utah, later completing a doctorate degree from Utah State University. He taught Social Studies and German for 37 years at South Davis Junior High. Leslie served actively in the community on the City Planning Commission, the Historical Preservation Committee, as a City Councilman and authored the book, The City Bountiful for the city's centennial celebration.

Leslie's life was filled with service, not only to the community but also for his church. As a young man he served a mission in Germany where he returned to serve with his wife. His church service has included Stake Mission President and missionary, Scoutmaster, Merit Badge Counselor, High Counselor, Bishop and Stake Sunday School President. He loved the Temple and was the historian during the construction of the Bountiful Temple where he served as an ordinance worker for 23 years.

His greatest accomplishment, however, was being a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife Connie; his children Tom and Jana Foy, Judy and Max Wallace, Shelly and Mark Burningham, Mike and Michelle Foy, Kristi and Jay Thompson, and Jeff and Keta Foy.He and Connie have 23 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Jean Call, Inez Barker (Forest) and Sarah Moore along with loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents, sisters Lola Smith and Julia Brough and great-grandson Keith Wallace.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 28th at 11:00 a.m. in the Shepard Creek Ward (1533 North 1075 West, Farmington). A viewing will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 27, 2015 at the Farmington Russon Brothers Mortuary (1941 North Main, Farmington) and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 28 at the Shepard Creek Ward. Interment will be at the Bountiful City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the LDS general church missionary fund.
