Lilia passed away peacefully April 6, 2018 in Bountiful, Utah. Lilia was born in the year 1922 in Lucca, Italy to Michele Puccini and Pia Di Giordano Puccini. She was a lithographer by trade in Lucca. She met and married her American GI husband John Coghlan in Italy towards the end of WWII. She left her beloved family at the end of 1946 and brought her baby, Loretta, to America aboard the USAT Thomas H. Barry to meet John and move to be near his family in Wisconsin where they had their second baby, Richard. They built their first home and lived in Wisconsin for several years.
They then bought a brand new Chevrolet station wagon and moved across country to make their home in the bay area of California where Lilia had aunts and uncles from Italy.
After buying their home in San Leandro, California, their third child, Jacqueline was born in Oakland.
One of Lilia's most cherished accomplishments was becoming a US citizen. She studied long days and hours learning all about American history; this meant a great deal to her.
Lilia was a beloved and wonderful mother, wife, daughter, sister and aunt. She was a very talented seamstress. Her design and sewing skills quickly grew so much attention that it turned into a thriving home based business.
In 2004 Lilia moved from San Leandro, CA to Bountiful, UT to live with her daughter Loretta and only grandson, Alex, where she enjoyed gardening (and weeding!) observing the birds and animals and being attended to by her family and the family cats, who followed her everywhere.
She passed her final years in the wonderful care of Welcome Home Assisted Living facility in Bountiful, UT.
Lilia is survived by her two daughters, Jacqueline Coghlan and Loretta Cipro, her grandson, Alex Cipro and her nephew Sebastiano (Enrica) Micheli.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Liliana (Ambrogio) and her son Richard Coghlan.
