Lillian Peacock

August 26, 1940 — August 11, 2024

Kaysville, UT

Lillian Trautman Peacock, passed away of natural causes on August 11, 2024, at 12:05 p.m., at Whisper Cove Assisted Living, in Kaysville, Utah, at the age of 83.

Lillian was born to Fred and Olga (Ruff) Trautman on August 26, 1940. Lillian was the 10th of 11 children, she had 4 brothers and 6 sisters. A brother and a sister died as infants. Lillian’s father tried out many jobs, causing her family to move from town to town while she was growing up. Her dad eventually owned a country grocery store on an Indian reservation in Duckwater, Nevada where she attended school with the Indian children.

Due to her mom’s illnesses, Lillian often lived with other relatives, and went to four different high schools. When she could no longer live with other relatives she moved home to Duckwater. Because there was no high school in Duckwater, Lillian and her brother, Charlie, boarded with different families in Lund, Nevada during Lillian’s Junior and Senior years in high school.

It was in Lund that she met the love of her life, Oliver Peacock. At Lund High School she was the Future Homemakers of America President, Class Officer, Prom Queen, and was on the Yearbook staff. Many times she would help “Ollie” with his chores on his family’s dairy farm so that Ollie could be on time to school and church events.

Ollie and Lillian were married in the St. George, Utah temple on September 1, 1959. Ollie and Lillian were the parents of four daughters: Donna, Patti, Angie, and Lori. Lillian was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was also a good homemaker and a wonderful cook. She always made it fun when her children and grandchildren came for visits and family vacations.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from the age of 17. Over the years, she served in many callings, including Primary President and ordinance worker at the San Diego Temple.

When her children were mostly grown, Lillian worked as an Instructional Assistant, working at Fallbrook High School. Over the years, Ollie’s employment took them to live in Northern California, Oregon, and Southern California. Ollie and Lillian both retired in 2004 and moved to Arizona.

In 2020, Ollie and Lillian moved to Utah to be near their daughter, Angie. Only a month after their move to Utah, Ollie passed away, on January 15, 2021.

Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Lamar Peacock, and all of her siblings. Lillian is survived by her four daughters, Donna (Antone) Sorenson, Patti (Steve) Samons, Angie (Elliott) Gummersall, and Lori (Matt) Haskin, as well as 13 grandchildren, and 15 great-children.
