Bountiful, UT—Lillian Soutas Alder having finished her earthly mission returned home
to the arms of our loving Heavenly Father on 30 December 2017. Lillian was born 16,
January 1922 in Richfield, UT to Anna Violet Jensen and Konstantine S (Gus) Soutas.
She graduated from Richfield High in 1941. She moved to Salt Lake City, worked at sister,
Helen’s, Dixie Shop, met then married Reuel Vickers Alder July 11, 1942 in the
Salt Lake Temple. They are the parents of five children. Lillian was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was employed at the Lakeview
Hospital for 25 years as a scrub tech. After retirement she was a member of the Dancing
Grannies for 13 years. She ushered at the Symphony Hall, Pioneer Theater, Delta Center
and Jazz games, Summer Concerts in Deer Valley, Capitol Theatre, and Salt Palace for over 25 years.
She was a member of the Salt Lake Greek Hellenic Society and Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Reuel V. Alder, second husband, Cecil Carr, Konstantine S (Gus) Soutas (father), and Ann Violet Jensen (mother), Anna Rasmussen (step mother); also siblings Helen Soutas Points, Ivan Constantine Soutas, Geraldine Soutas Mayer, Marie Constance Soutas Ewell, Darwyn Jim Soutas, Mary Deane Soutas Kimber and
daughter-in-law Vicki Alder. She is survived by Vickie Lynne Alder Smith (Dan), Reuel S.
Alder, Michael and Valerie Alder, Patricia Jean Alder Ellsworth (Sterling) Dan and Suzanne
Alder; 27 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 13, 2018 at the Val Verda Stake Center, 2651 South 500 West, Bountiful. Friends and family may call Friday evening from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful and Saturday morning 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church prior to services.
