Linda Fay Poole Betteridge passed away peacefully in North Salt Lake, Utah surrounded by her family on May 26, 2023 after a quick and treacherous battle of metastatic ovarian cancer. Linda was born on August 16, 1960 in Bossier City, Louisiana to Clinton E. Poole and Louise Ann Bozung.
Linda enjoyed most of her childhood in Manteca, California doing many wonderful activities. Those activities include gymnastics (particularly the balance beam), swimming, being outdoors, baton twirling, singing, playing the flute and being her high school mascot, a buffalo.
After Linda graduated high school, she took classes at Delta College in Stockton, California, and eventually transferred to BYU in Provo, Utah to continue her education. After attending some college, Linda decided she wanted to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served for 18 months in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
After her mission, she returned back home and found her forever sweetheart Boyd Betteridge. Boyd and Linda were married and sealed for time and all eternity in the Oakland, California Temple on December 19th, 1987. They welcomed three children into their family and eventually settled in Winnemucca, Nevada to start up their own businesses.
Linda’s favorite things in life were her family and her faith. She loved becoming Nana. Some of her favorite things were to bake cookies (from scratch), sing songs, and dance with the grandkids. Music was her life and you could always find her singing songs. Her testimony was simple. She believed in her Savior, Jesus Christ and that Families are Forever.
She started showing odd symptoms in 2021. She experienced multiple strokes and was eventually diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic ovarian cancer on February 18th, 2023. The cancer diagnosis along with the other symptoms and health afflictions that came from the cancer ultimately took her life.
Linda is survived by her husband Boyd; her children Phillip (Ashley), Nathan (Leslie), Sarah Hansen (Shawn); her grandchildren; Maquel (6), Melody (2), Millie (5), Brielle (2), Clark (1); her mother, Louise; her brothers, Michael (Susan) and Nicholas, and her nephews Jacob and Kevin. She was preceded in death by her father, Clinton and nephews John and Clint.
