Linda Horne

Linda Kerol Neville Horne (1943-2017)

Linda passed away on February 24, 2017, of complications incident to cancer.

Linda was born February 3, 1943, to goodly parents, Sherrill West and Kerol Young Neville in Salt Lake City, Utah, the second of four daughters and one brother (deceased at birth).

She enjoyed a golden childhood, growing up in the Avenues of Salt Lake City, where she attended school and graduated from East High. She was greatly blessed by her parents and by leaders in her local LDS Wards who taught her the gospel, to which she became deeply committed for the rest of her life. She endured to the end with a strong testimony.

She married Byron Martin Horne in the Salt Lake Temple, and was blessed with six children, Scott (Brenda), Dennis (Chelsey), Holly (Kevin), Kerol (David), Bradley (Shauna), and Lisa.

She graduated from the University of Utah, and taught art in Davis County schools. Throughout her life she enjoyed cooking, canning, painting, throwing pottery, glass blowing, house plants, bird watching, and hiking to a favorite mountain spring with grandchildren. Visitors to her home were always made to feel welcome and loved.

Linda served LDS missions to San Bernadino, California (with Byron) and to Omaha, Nebraska. She also served in various other capacities throughout life, lastly as a ward Relief Society president and a primary teacher.

Linda enjoyed her sisters Noel Cardon, Holly Adams, and Millie Holyoak, and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved deeply. She was preceded from this life by her parents, husband, sister Holly, brother Robert Neville, two daughters-in-law, Christine Horne and Celia Horne, and grandson Parker Pratt.

Friends and extended family may pay their respects at the Bountiful 9th Ward (585 E. Center St.) on Saturday, March 4, from 9:30 to 10:45 am. The funeral service begins at 11:00 am.
