Heaven welcomed another angel on November 22, 2021. Our Sweet, loving, and compassionate Aunt, Friend, and Cousin Linda Chase Hunt graduated to her heavenly home peacefully and unexpectedly at her home in Millcreek from a very short illness.
Linda was born March 19,1943 in Kingman, AZ to George Ogden Chase and Vivian Berniece Carlson. The family returned to their roots in Centerville, UT shortly afterward which allowed Linda to grow up next to the Chase family farm on Chase Lane in Centerville. Along with the other Chase family members, cousins, aunts, uncles, etc. who also lived on Chase lane. She graduated from high school and then went on to serve an LDS mission. When she returned from her mission she met and married and was sealed to Robert Brown in the LDS Salt Lake City Temple.
Linda lost her sight in her early twenties due to a rare genetic disease and was completely blind the rest of her life. She was employed at the Salt Lake City Center for the Blind for many years until her retirement. Although many would let this disease slow them down Linda decided early on with help from the Lord to maintain her positivity for life. Through this handicap Linda has met and worked with many wonderful people. She was a positive influence wherever she went and influenced all who met her. Linda was always a positive person who enjoyed the simple things in life. She continually put others needs first instead of her own needs and did what she could to improve their lives in one way or the other. Mainly using her words to comfort, encourage and mentor others in their difficult times. She was a personal life coach to many throughout the years. Long before anyone knew what they were. A mentor and a teacher for the Lord was her gift. She loved the Lord passionately and taught about Him to all she met. She was anxious to return to live with the Lord and the other loved ones who passed on before her. You might say she is one who has finally had her dreams come true in the passing on to heaven.
After the passing of her first husband Linda met and married Gerald Hunt. They lived in Salt Lake City for many years in the Broadway Tower apartments. Linda’s second husband passed away in 2010. She continued to live alone until her untimely passing with her first and main focus on loving the Lord and sharing His Words through scriptures.
Sometime in her second marriage Linda became a born again Christian and followed many programs at home after she was not able to attend the services physically due to health concerns. Her favorite Christian program and Paster is the well-known Paster Jimmy Swaggert and the television programs and music he provides in these programs. As she put it, “these programs provided her with the spirit and the Lord’s word continues to fill her bucket up when others have drained it.” Many times, she said the only thing she wants in life is the Lord.
The family wishes to thank everyone who took care of our precious Linda these many, many years and also those Medical Providers who helped assist and care for her especially in these past few weeks of her very difficult medical care.
