Linda Spencer Hansen

February 7, 1943 — February 18, 2025

St. George, UT

Linda Spencer Hansen, passed away unexpectedly in the early morning hours of February 18, 2025, with her sweetheart Doug at her side. She had just recently celebrated her 82nd birthday.

She was born February 7, 1943, in Logan Utah to Carma Cooley and Robert Keith Spencer. She dearly loved, respected, and obeyed her parents her entire life! She was the 2nd of 4 daughters born in her family and lovingly looked up to her older sister Maylene, and loyally cared for her younger sisters CarmaLee and Suzanne, as they all formed a strong sister bond, never to be broken.

She attended school in Logan at Adams Elementary, Logan Junior High, and Logan High School. She grew up roller skating at Logan Roller Rink, and performed in several Roller Rhapsody shows there, and was featured twirling her baton lighted with flames on each end! At Logan High, she was the drum majorette of the marching band - twirling her baton in parades and performances, and also a member of the R.O.T.C. sponsor corps. Linda attended Utah State University where she was a USU Song Leader, performing in many games and parades, and was active in Chi Omega Sorority. She also attended Weber State College where she participated in the Colleens Performing Dance Team, and earned an RN Degree in Nursing. She has used her nursing skills in many jobs and service to others over the years, and had just recently completed her RN recertification. While raising her family she maintained her nursing skills by working at times in clinics and medical facilities.

On September 22, 1965 Linda married her High School Sweetheart, Douglas Jay Hansen in the Logan LDS Temple. Their love and commitment to each other has spanned decades, and began with their first meeting in 6th grade. They truly are a dynamic couple, who’s examples and friendship have touched countless lives for good. They were blessed with four treasured sons Greg, Spencer, Christopher, and Jason, and one adored daughter KeriLyn. Linda’s greatest happiness was her family, as evidenced by her being a fulltime mother and homemaker. She was fully involved in the lives and activities of each of her children growing up, and has remained so until the day of her passing. This loving interest and support has continued with each and every one of her precious grandchildren and great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Linda and Doug’s family has had many great experiences over the years living in Minneapolis Minnesota, Bountiful Utah, Castle Rock Colorado, Providence Utah and St. George Utah, making friends and blessing lives wherever they have lived!

Linda has been a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and has served faithfully in many callings over the years. She is well known as a compassionate neighbor and friend to countless others throughout her life, blessing their lives with her delicious cooking, visits, phone calls, and personal watchcare. Their vegetable and flower gardens also cheered up many a neighbor and friend. Linda & Doug served 18 months as fulltime senior missionaries for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the St. George area of the Provo Utah Mission from 2007–2008.
