Lois Leona Bigelow 1917-2010 Lois Leona Bigelow passed away peacefully in her sleep after a wonderfully full life. Lois was born on May 30, 1917 in Panguitch, Utah to Moses Willard Bigelow M.D. and Amy Ilene Allred. She was the 3rd of 8 children. She graduated from Garfield County High School in 1935 and went on to attend BYU, U of U and Arizona State Teachers College. She received her BS Degree from BYU in 1939 and in 1970 she received her Masters of Education Degree from BYU. She taught Kindergarten for 41 years. She had such a great love for children. She was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa International Sorority for women teachers and served on the State and National level. She was also very active in the organizations associated with her profession and served as President of the UEA. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving in many auxiliaries. She served a mission to North Central States in 1946 and later with her sister Donna in 1970 to Ventura, California and two short temple missions. Lois is survived by her sister Donna Bigelow who was her life-long friend and companion, with whom she traveled throughout the world. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Bonnie Bigelow, and numerous nieces and nephews who were also blessed to frequently travel with her. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 1941 N. Main St., Farmington, Utah, where friends and family may call from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment at Elysian Burial Gardens, 1075 E. 4580 S., SLC, UT The family would like to thank the staff and friends at Apple Tree Assisted Living for the love and happiness they brought into Lois? life these last 3 years.
