Lois Geddes Webster

August 13, 1933 — July 18, 2015

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and grandma-great, Lois Geddes Webster, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 18, 2015 at her home in Bountiful, Utah at the age of 81. She had just spent four wonderful days at a reunion with her family members gathered around her.
She was born on August 13, 1933 in Banida, Idaho to Golden Campbell and Virgil Croshaw Geddes. She graduated from Preston High School and attended the University of Idaho and Brigham Young University.
Lois married her high school sweetheart Carl Porter Webster of Preston, Idaho on June 2, 1952 in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple. They are the parents of four children.
Lois was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various positions throughout her life, but her greatest calling was her role as wife, mother and grandmother. Her family remembers with fondness her constant devotion as a homemaker, whether canning, gardening, sewing quilts and aprons for family and friends, making crafts with her children and grandchildren, or serving others. She fostered more than 60 babies and toddlers prior to their adoption through LDS Family Services and served as a second mother for many others to whom she opened her home and heart. In her later years she made more than 40,000 quilts, toys, school and hygiene kits, and other supplies for needy children and families across the world. She served with her husband in the England Leeds Mission from 1995-1997, as well as a service mission in the Provo MTC and as an ordinance worker in the Bountiful, Utah LDS Temple.
Lois exhibited dignity as she endured cancer and other health challenges with grace and faith, and waited on the Lord to take her home according to His timing.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Carl Porter Webster, and four children: David Geddes Webster (Kelly), Leon Geddes Webster (Janet), Carolyn Cluff (Greggory), and Wendy Jones (Stephen); and 15 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Carl and her brothers Robert, Dale, Cleo and Leo Geddes.
Services will be held Thursday, July 23 at 11:00 a.m. at the Canyon Park Ward, 1190 East Bountiful Hills Drive, Bountiful, Utah. A viewing will be held Wednesday, July 22 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main Street, Bountiful, and prior to the services from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. at the Canyon Park Ward. Interment will be in the Lake View Memorial Cemetery, 1640 East Lakeview Drive, Bountiful.
