Lois Hess

October 21, 1930 — April 25, 2014

Lois Mae Holbrook Hess passed away April 25, 2014 in Bountiful, Utah. She was born October 21, 1930 in Bountiful, Utah to Myron Fredrick Holbrook and Emily Mae Brough Holbrook. Lois married James Dale Hess on February 14, 1947. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, February 7, 1951. Mom was a waitress her whole life. Spending many years at Oakridge Country Club. Lois was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved riding the gold-wing motorcycle with our dad and the many trips they were able to take. Served a mission in Adelaide, Australia and later as a Temple worker.
Many thanks to Barton Creek and the aides who loved our mom. Also South Davis Home Health and Hospice. We are very grateful.
Lois is survived by her 5 daughters, Janet Mae Carr, Linda Kay Hudson, Shirley Rae Mayo, Nancy Gay Gotschall and Donna Fae Blonquist, 1 brother, Samuel Richard Holbrook, 1 sister, Helen Gabler and 16 Grandchildren, 24 Great-grandchildren, and 1 Great, great-grandchild. Preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister, Elaine Hudson and 2 Grandchildren, Sean and Andrew.
Funeral Services will be held at the Rock Chapel, 272 N. Main, Farmington, Utah, 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 30, 2014. Friends and family may call from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 1941 N. Main, Farmington, UT and again on Wednesday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment- Farmington City Cemetery.
