Lois Lucile Shingleton Owen died on November 16, 2014 from Alzheimers Disease. She was born October 25, 1923 to Elmer and Vera Shingleton in Salt Lake City. She graduated West High School in 1940. Married Lester Wenger on September 5, 1941, later divorced. She married Clifton Owen, later divorced. During World War II, Lois lived in San Francisco where she was a model. After moving back to Salt Lake City, Lois worked in retail most of her life at Salt Lake Knit, Castletons and Earls Rose Park Pharmacy. Lois loved to dance and won several dance contests. She loved people and always had a smile on her face.
Survived by her children, Richard (Rolayne) Wenger of Las Vegas, Nevada; Craig Owen and Charlene Owen of Salt Lake City; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, and a brother, Lorin D. Shingleton, Salt Lake City. She is preceded in death by her parents. Member, LDS Church.
Funeral services will be held at Rose Park Sixth Ward, 1155 N. 1200 W., on Friday, November 21, 2014 at 11:00 am. Friends may call at Russon Brothers Salt Lake Mortuary, 255 S. 200 E.,on Thursday, November 20 from 6-8 pm and at the ward prior to services from 10-10:30 am. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
