Lora Allred Gibby

Bountiful, UT – After a lengthy illness Lora passed away, at home,  surrounded by her loving family.  Lora was the daughter of Angus Lemmon and Elen Rebecca Allred.  She was born in Lovell, WY and in later years moved to Salt Lake City, UT.  Lora graduated from Granite High School in May of 1955.  She went onto study at the University of Utah where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in June of 1960.  She continued at the University of Utah and in August of 1967 she received her Master of Science in Microbiology.  She served as a department head and instructor at the University of Utah.  During this time she met Richard A. Gibby and was sealed in the Salt Lake City temple on November 05, 1969.  Her husband took a job in the east and they proceeded to make their home in Little Silver, NJ.  There they began their family.  Lora and Richard were the parents of seven children.  Lora leaves behind a great legacy.  Delores L. Markisich of Bountiful, UT, Brenda (Todd) Combe, Paul A. Gibby, John A. (Christine) Gibby, Desiree Lund,  Richard A. Gibby, Thomas A. (Aleshia) Gibby, 27 grandchildren,  and 2 great grandchildren. 

Lora is well known for her great compassion, kindness, acceptance of others,  intellect, and her faithful service to our Heavenly Father.  She lived to serve others without expecting anything in return and was a shining example of Christ like love. She served in many capacities in the LDS church over the years.  She enjoyed her service to the Lord as a temple worker for several years.  She was best known for her vast knowledge of the scriptures and her influence as a Gospel Doctrine teacher.  In each ward she attended, she served the members of her church and community with a pure heart. 

A Viewing will be held at Russon Brothers Mortuary 295 N. Main Bountiful, UT from 6-8 P.M. on Monday, April 18th.  Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 19th at the Lakeview Ward 455 S. 1200 E.  Bountiful, UT at 1 P.M. with a Viewing prior to the service from 11:30 – 12:45 P.M.  Graveside service will be at the Bountiful  City Cemetery 2224 S. 200 W. Bountiful, UT .
