Lorene Blackburn

West Bountiful, UT – Lorene Blackburn, age 77, passed away June 9, 2018. She was born March 25, 1941 to Daniel Ward and Lorene Bryson.

Lorene married the love of her life, Karl Blackburn, on January 12, 1960. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on their first anniversary. Together they shared 7 kids and 58 wonderful years.

Lorene served in various capacities for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her favorite was her position as ward librarian which she performed for decades, most recently with her husband as her partner.

Lorene was devoted to her family, loved children, genealogy, her garden and needle crafts. Lorene's selflessness, kindness and love will be missed by all.

Survived by husband, Karl; brother, Darrell; children Daniel (Kathleen), Doyle (Tami), Michael (Wendy), Kristi (Mike) DeWaal, Rachel (Raymond) Petersen, Hannah (Toby) Ledbetter; 18 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her son Nolen Blackburn, and grandson Jeremy.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at the West Bountiful 2nd Ward, 840 North 800 West, West Bountiful, UT, where a viewing will be held 9:45-10:45 am prior to services. Additional viewing Monday 6-8pm at Russon Mortuary 295 N Main St, Bountiful.
