Lori Josephine Morgan

August 21, 1954 — November 1, 2018

Lori Josephine Morgan was born on August 21, 1954, in San Francisco, California, to Betty Josephine Smith and Joel Dean Perkins. Lori lived a life devoted to sharing God’s love and created a world full of meaningful relationships. She passed away unexpectedly on November 1, 2018, in Kaysville, UT.

Lori grew up in Provo and Duchesne and graduated from Utah State University, where she met the top bowler in their class, her absolute best friend, husband, father, and grandfather in the world, Ramon B. Morgan. They were sealed for eternity on August 28, 1975, in the Salt Lake Temple.

Lori was known as “amma” to her seven grandchildren, who adore her, and whom she loved with all her heart. Lori was also known as “best friend” to anyone she crossed paths with. She found immense joy and fulfillment in serving and embracing ALL. She loved quilting, gardening, volunteering, and continuously praying. Her ultimate masterpiece was the immaculate weaving of kind words, beautiful notes on lovely stationary, baked peanut-butter fingers, and sacred, intimate acts of compassionate giving.

Love is her lasting legacy. Mom gave the warmest hugs. Her focus was always on the one she was with and she brought out the best in others. Her green thumb has touched almost every flowerbed in the state. She was a devoted friend and would look for any excuse to throw an elaborate party, or celebrate a significant event or accomplishment. She gained strength from others, but was an anchor to all.

Lori was preceded in death by her mother, father, and step-father, Donald K. Dunkley, and her brother Dave Dunkley. Lori is survived by her husband, Ramon B. Morgan, her four children: Erin Massey (Bryan), Paige Burgin (Michael), Michael Morgan (Bridget), and Trent Morgan (Megen). She is also survived by her treasures—her seven grandchildren—Brooks, Morgan, Ben, Claire, Henry, Graham, and Eliza.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, November 7 at 11:00 am at the Kaysville South Stake Center, 900 South Main Street, Kaysville. Visitations will be Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm at Russon Farmington Mortuary, 1941 North Main Street, and Wednesday morning from 9:30-10:30 am at the church prior to the service. Interment will be in the Kaysville City Cemetery.

We love you mom and we will see you every day in the tulips, lobelia, pansies, and the countless lives you have touched, for good.
