Lorilynn Brandon, her special spirit, returned home on September 27, 2014, after a 47-year struggle with health problems. “I am a child of God, His promises are sure; Celestial Glory can be mine, if I can but endure” and she endured gracefully and without complaint.
Lorilynn was born March 28, 1967 at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas. Born to Larry and Violet Brandon, she entered this world with big brown eyes and a huge smile. She was the oldest of four siblings. Kelly, Tara and Gavin (Amy) who survive her.
Lori graduated from Viewmont High School in 1985 and then went on to work at PARC, Pioneer Adult Rehabilitation Center. At PARC, she had many friends, including staff and bus drivers. She missed all those at PARC dearly when she was finally unable to go to work.
Lori was outgoing. She participated in the Special Olympics and the South Davis County Special Needs Mutual. The high point of her year was the Annual Production the mutual performed in. She loved her calling as a ward nursery worker and fulfilled it faithfully.
She was loved my many and would often be seen walking her dog or walking home from the bus stop. Lori loved holidays, traveling and eating three cheese enchiladas.
Lori left behind nine nieces and nephews, who were her good friends. They will miss her humor and how she made them laugh. She taught them a special lesson, to love everyone regardless of who they were. Survived by her mom and dad, three siblings, five aunts and spouses, many cousins, her dog Snuggles and special friend Matt Padley. She was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents.
We would like to extend our appreciation to PARC, U of U Neurological Center, Dr. Carl Gray and staff, and Applegate Hospice. Our hearts are also touched by those neighbors, young and old, who became her friends and reached out and were kind to her. We are thankful to all those who supported her and visited her through such a trying time.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 3, 2014, at the Ricks Creek Centerville Chapel, 1475 North 50 East. Friends and family may visit Thursday, October 2, 2014, between 6 and 8 p.m., at Russon Brothers Mortuary 295 N Main St, Bountiful or Friday, 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment will be at the Centerville City Cemetery.
