Good things come in small packages…and so does dynamite!
On June 28, 2024, we saw the passing of a 5’ giant of a lady. Our dear Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Friend. Lorraine Ehninger Cutler born October 7, 1926, to Carl Herman Ehninger and Ida Grimshaw. She was 97 years young.
She was a brilliant burst of energy, work, fun and joy. She loved all of us, but most dear to her was her beloved Joseph her husband of 72 years, who cared faithfully for her at home as she aged.
Lorraine and Joseph Franklyn Cutler were married in the Salt Lake Temple Sept. 19, 1952, weeks before Joseph went to serve in the Korean War.
Jolayne (Merrill) Flinders was born while Joseph served in Korea. Two brothers followed, Gregory Lynn (Beverly Lamb), and Calvin Ray. Calvin died as a result of a truck and motorcycle accident Jan. 30, 1976.
Lorraine and Joe were extremely active in Scouting, both the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts. They sang in Ward Choirs and she was often found in Primary and Relief Society as both a Pianist and Chorister, and in many other callings, as well as helping Joseph as he served as Bishop, in the Stake Presidency and as Patriarch. Lorraine and Joe served 2 years in the Singapore Mission starting in 1995. They served for 13 years in the Bountiful Temple after their return.
She loved to travel and visited many places in the world including the Holy Land, with Joseph by her side. They were never parted in this life because of their great love for one another, and will not be parted in the next because of the sealing power of the Temple of the Lord.
Lorraine drew many friends to her with her happy outlook on life, love and marriage. She was so happy in her home and with her family that she was often heard to exclaim that it was “paradise on earth”.
Her eight grandchildren, their spouses, her 16 great-grandchildren and her children “arise up and call her Blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.” Proverbs 31:10-31
The family wishes to express their gratitude and love to Rocky Mountain Hospice, especially to Jenn & Raelynn. Many neighbors helped and loved our Lorraine, we wish we could thank all of you here. May you know of our love and deepest gratitude.
