Our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away early Thursday morning January 29, 2015, after being surrounded by her children and grandchildren Wednesday evening to bid her a final farewell.
Lorraine Richardson Kocherhans celebrated her 90th birthday May 2, 2014 with family and friends paying tribute to her and a long life of service to her family, church and the many children she taught in pre-school over 16 years.
Born in Brigham City, Utah in 1924, the sixth of eight children of Walter and Lovina Richardson, Lorraine often shared fond memories of growing up in Brigham City. Just prior to her graduation from Box Elder High, she married her wonderful sweetheart Ivan Croft Kocherhans. After living many years in Utah, Ike & Lorraine moved to Redlands, CA and later to Phoenix, AZ where they raised their six children. Lorraine was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served in the Mutual Young Women's program, and in the Primary. After Ike retired, they were called to serve in the Kentucky Mission. Later, they served as Visitor Center Missionaries in St. George, Utah.
"Grandma Great," was loved by all and we loved her quick wit and sense of humor. She will be greatly missed.
Ivan and Lorraine have left a great and growing posterity.
Lorraine is survived by her six children, Susan (Ray) Blake, Steven Kocherhans, Larry (Carolyn) Kocherhans, David (Elizabeth) Kocherhans, Patricia (Mike) Rivers, and Pamela (Ken) Carey; Sisters, Norma Wheatly and Ruth Pinegar; Sister-in-law, LaPriel Louder; and Brother-in-law, Chester Kocherhans. Ike & Lorraine have 24 grandchildren and 51 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, January 31st at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful. A viewing for family and friends will begin at 12:45 p.m. prior to the services. Interment will be at the Lakeview Memorial Cemetery.
