Louan Ashbaker Olsen, born on January 1, 1933 in Grace, Idaho passed away on October 23, 2016 in Ogden, Utah. Louan was the daughter of Charles Freeman and Letitia Ione Dunn Ashbaker. She was sealed to Joseph WIlliam Lewis on March 2, 1951 in the Salt Lake Temple. They were later divorced. She was sealed to Gordon Clifford Olsen in November 1985.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served in many callings throughout her life. She sold everything she owned to serve a mission in Anaheim, California, then later served two other missions with her husband, Gordon. Known best for her beautiful voice, kindness, sense of humor, and selfless service, Louan will be lovingly remembered by treasured close friends and neighbors in various locations throughout the country.
Louan loved her family dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother-in-law, Monte Tingey, husband Gordon, step-son Scott, daughter Kristine (Kay) Miller, and granddaughter Jamie. She is survived by her brother, Kent (Ann) Ashbaker, a sister, Linda Rae Tingey, and a rich posterity: a daughter, Kathleen (David) Brown, two sons, Kirt William (Annette) Lewis, and Kenneth Charles (Maria) Lewis, three step-daughters, Diane (Tom) Naylor, Adriene (Gregg) Murray, Annemarie (John) Williams, a step-son, Eric (Angie) Olsen, thirty-five grandchildren, sixty great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 N. Main, Bountiful, UT., preceded by a viewing from 9:30-10:45.
