LouAnn Brown

February 9, 1937 — May 16, 2013

LouAnn Lee Brown passed away on May 16, 2013 in Bountiful, Utah of Congestive Heart failure, surrounded by her children and her sister, Pauline. It had been only 8 months since her Sweetheart, our Dad, had passed away on September 1, 2012, shortly after their 53rd Wedding Anniversary. We know there was a great reunion that day with Dad and all of Mom’s family and loved ones who had gone on before her.
LouAnn was born February 9, 1937 in Morgan, Utah at her Grandmother’s home to Douglas Lee and Myra Tonks. She attended Morgan Elementary. Mom came from strong, hardworking pioneer stock and she grew up surrounded by her grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. She loved telling us stories of their daring and often very funny adventures. Mom has always had an amazing memory with the ability to remember names, dates and places, all the details that connect us all together.
Her family moved to Bountiful, Utah when she was 12 years old. There she attended South Davis Junior High and Davis High School.
LouAnn married George James Neumeyer in 1954 and from that union had 2 children, Carri and Rick, they were later divorced. Mom and Dad were married on August 15, 1959 in Bountiful, Utah and 4 years later our family was made complete with the arrival our little sister, Cheryl.
Mom was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and she supported her family and loved talking about her missionary Grandsons, one of which is Elder Cody Neumeyer who is currently serving in West Virginia.
Mom worked for the Davis School District for 20 years as a Lunch Lady. But her efforts and accomplishments were being a wonderful and talented Homemaker. Mom loved making crafts, knitting and crocheting. Her “Baby Booties” are legendary along with countless doilies, crocheted baby dresses, baby blankets, hats scarfs, sweaters etc., etc. All of us, including every grandchild, great grandchild have received items from Grandma that she made just for us! Mom was also great cook and her “Potato Salad” is famous! Mom loved being with her family and she especially loved all of her grandchildren and those beautiful great grandchildren and babies. She also enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting.
LouAnn is survived by her 3 children, Carri Ann Hunt (Brent), Rick Neumeyer (Linda) and Cheryl Brown (Hoskie). She has 15 Grandchildren and 19 Great Grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Kent Douglas Lee and her sister, Pauline Hatt, a sister-in-law, Illene Randall and a brother-in-law, Tom Brown. She is preceded in death by her husband, Don C Brown, and a sister, Margaret Bryan.
Our family would like to express gratitude to all those who so lovingly helped care for our mother these past few weeks and months. Mom suffered for over 20 years from Rheumatoid arthritis but she was an incredible example of strength to endure such great pain, and now she is not suffering anymore. Mom you have left a big hole in our lives and hearts but it will be filled with all of the wonderful things you have taught us!
