The last of the nine children of Henry Harper Billings and Effie Murphy, Louise, passed away October 15, 2015.
Our wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend went home to our Father in Heaven.
She married George Edward Leary, Sr. On February 14, 1942 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was an active member of the LDS Church serving in many positions, including serving in the Salt Lake and when it was built, Bountiful Temples with George. She continued her temple service even after George passed on. She fulfilled missions to Temple Square, the Joseph Smith Building, and the Conference Center. She was a member of DUP. She enjoyed having her family around her; serving them wonderful meals, knitting, making delicious hand dipped chocolates each Christmas, and making beautiful quilts.
She is survived by her children: Edrice Christensen, Edward (JoAnn) Leary, Kent (Vicki) Leary, Dean (Margaret) Leary, Glen (Valerie) Leary, Glorie (Brent) Franson; 19 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren, plus one on the way, and many nieces and nephews, all who loved her very much.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sisters: Montana Richards, Emma Solomon, Blanche Pussey, Betty Meredith, LaVae Stevenson; brothers: Quinter Billings, Clarence Billings, Byron Billings; daughter-in-laws: Barbara E. Leary, Betty C. Leary; and son-in-law, Allen Christensen.
We wish to thank Heritage Place in Bountiful where she lived since 2007 and South Davis Hospice. Especially we are thankful for the services of Ashley and Sydney, mom’s nurses, and aids Mavis and Calen.
