Louise Collins Sward

April 16, 1925 — December 2, 2016

Louise Collins Sward passed away 12/2/2016 at the age of 91 of causes incident to age.  She was born April 16, 1925 in Provo, Utah to Wendell and Leah Collins.  She was the 1st of 3 children.  Louise married Robert J. Sward March 6, 1946, after he returned home from serving in the military during World War II.  Robert passed away August 22, 2010.  Louise was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints throughout her life.  She loved to work in the church music program, especially as chorister in many of the organizations.  Whenever asked to lead the music on short notice, she would happily accept, go get her church songbook, pick up the music baton Robert made for her on his metal-turning lathe, and she was ready to go.  Louise is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law Wayne (Patricia) Sward (Kaysville, UT), Larry (Renate) Sward (Lexington, KY), and David (Jolene) Sward (Bountiful, UT), 10 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister, brother, and 2 grandchildren.  Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 10, 2016 at the Bountiful Tabernacle, 51 South Main, Bountiful, Utah.  A viewing will be held Friday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Russon Brother’s Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful and Saturday, morning 11:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m. at the Bountiful Tabernacle prior to the services.  Interment will be in the Bountiful City Cemetery.  The family wishes to thank the employees and staff at Life Care Center of Bountiful and South Davis Hospice Care for the care they provided to Louise for the last 5 months.
