Lowell Oswald

January 20, 1927 — March 27, 2011

Lowell DeWayne Oswald, age 84, passed away peacefully at South Davis Community Hospital in Bountiful, Utah on Sunday, March 27, 2011. He was born on January 20, 1927 in Osgood, Idaho to William Harry and Mabel LaRue Fife Oswald. He graduated from Idaho Falls High School, Ricks College and Brigham Young University. He married Neva Jean Price on June 22, 1949 in the Idaho Falls Temple. Lowell served in the United States Navy and then served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. During his 35-year career in education, he was employed as a teacher, principal, district administrator, and college instructor. He also authored several reading programs. He was a member of the Bountiful 25th Ward and served in numerous church callings throughout his life. He was always the first one to volunteer for welfare assignments. He also served for 11 years as a tour guide on Temple Square. He loved family history work and serving in the temple. Lowell is survived by his wife, Neva, and 11 children: Carol, Roseanne (Brian), Lola (Jeff), Lowell K. (Laurie), Mark (Bev), Joan, Pam (Mike), Paul (Lacey), Doug (Angie), Bryce, and Judy (Pat); 37 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren; three sisters and one brother. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and one sister. A viewing will be held on Friday, April 1, 2011 from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary at 295 North Main Bountiful, Utah.
