Lowell Steed

Biography

Our beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Lowell Smith Steed, 93, got his Christmas wish and passed peacefully Christmas Eve to reunite with his sweetheart after spending the evening with his family.
Dad was born May 3, 1921 in a small home on Main Street in Centerville to William Henry and Mary Smith Steed. He lived his life in Centerville except for four years service in the Coast Guard during WWII. He married his sweetheart, Marjean, August 21, 1946 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the Salt Lake Temple for 22 years. His life was service to faith, family and community.
Dad left a great legacy for the family he cherished, and an impression on each one that will be felt for a lifetime.
Honoring him are his children: Richard (Terri), Wayne, Jeri (Paul) Anderson, and Joan (Boyd) Millet; 12 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his eternal companion, parents, siblings and great-grandson, Kysen.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at the Centerville 19th Ward, 900 South 400 East. A viewing will be held Tuesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, and Wednesday morning 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment-Centerville City Cemetery.
