Luana Green Richards peacefully and comfortably passed away on Monday, August 29, 2016, at the age of 88 years. Luana was born on July 19, 1928 to William Herman and Minnie Irene Green in Kanesville, Utah. Luana’s life was devoted to her husband, her family, her faith, and her love of music and art. She was married and sealed to H. Lowell Richards in the LDS Salt Lake Temple on March 29, 1951. She and Lowell recently celebrated 65 wonderful years of marriage. With her loving and devoted husband by her side, her overwhelming joy throughout her life was to be surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Luana led a life of love and service at home and around the world. She faithfully served in many church callings and organizations; including the Stake Relief Society President, the Young Women’s organization, the Primary organization, and in many other church auxiliaries. She and Lowell sacrificed time and family associations to serve three adventurous missions in the Johannesburg, South Africa Mission, the Singapore Mission (Pakistan/East Malaysia), and the Fiji, Suva Mission (Vanuatu). Her love of music and singing begin early in her home and lasted her entire lifetime. She shared her musical talents and joy by performing publicly from an early age and into college. She was also an accomplished artist and many of those close to her cherish her original paintings in their homes. She proudly graduated with a degree in Physical Education from Utah State University in 1951. She leaves behind her husband, H. Lowell Richards; children Lisa Monson (Doug), Ryan Richards (Mary), Carrie Meek (Robert), Danielle Tuttle (Alan), Reese Richards (Shauna), Jenny Brown (Nathan), Regan Richards (Becca), and Cassie Mosier (Tony); 30 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 3, 2016, at the Bountiful Utah Orchard Stake Center, 3599 South Orchard Drive, Bountiful, Utah. Friends and family may visit Friday, September 2, 2016 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m., at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main Street, Bountiful, Utah, and from 9:45 -10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the service.
