Lucile Gumm Bingham

March 27, 1918 — July 4, 2015

Lucile Gumm Bingham passed away July 4, 2015, in Farmington Utah of causes incident to age. She was 97 years old. Raised in Salt Lake City, she was the oldest child of Fred S. and Anna Jeanette (Jean) Gumm.  She graduated from South High School. Lucile married Everett Bingham of Thatcher Arizona and they are the parents of four children.

She was a life-long active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She was also an accomplished pianist and graciously served as the ward organist in almost every ward she lived in, starting as a teenager in the Liberty Ward. She frequently accompanied vocal and instrumental soloists for various church meeting, funerals and other functions. She served as ward Relief Society president, Young Women’s president, and was a counselor and teacher in many auxiliaries. With her husband Everett she served a full-time LDS proselyting mission for eighteen months in Columbia South Carolina and was a worker in the Bountiful Temple.

She was employed at the Salt Lake Credit Union for some years and was also an active member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, Kimball Camp for 20 years. Most recently she volunteered with others from her assisted living facility as a reading coach at a local elementary school.

After retirement she lived in Quartsite, Arizona, but later returned to Utah establishing a home in Bountiful Utah.

Lucile is survived, dearly loved and appreciated by her 4 children Jeran F. Bingham (Linda), Laura (Mark Willes), Bonnie (Rick Streiff) and E. Kurt Bingham (Eva), 22 grandchildren, 69 great-grandchildren, 20 great-great-grandchildren and her many dear friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Everett, sister Helen Hulbert, brother Wayne Gumm and two grandchildren. We thank her for her faithful example, zest for living and her unconditional love. She will be greatly missed.

The family wishes to express their grateful thanks to all the caregivers at Country Care Assisted Living in Farmington and to Simbii hospice personnel for their kind and helpful services.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 8, 11:00am at the Bountiful 7th Ward, 1250 South Main St. Viewing will be held from 9:30am to 10:45am before the funeral.
