Lucile Ray Bushman

June 10, 1923 — November 23, 2016

Our beloved mom, grandma, great-grandma, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away at the age of 93 ½ on Nov. 23, 2016 at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah surrounded by her sobbing yet rejoicing family.
She happily skipped home to heaven to be with her sweetheart, Martin, parents, siblings, 4 sons, 3 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.
She was born to Edna Bertha Hansen and Marion Ray in Joseph City Arizona on June 10, 1923. She grew up in the Mesa, Arizona area, graduated from Mesa Union High and attended Brigham Young University.
She met the love of her life, Martin, because of a M-men and Gleaner convention in Snowflake Arizona. They were engaged in 1943. Martin was drafted into the Marines during WWII. When he got home they were married in the Mesa, Arizona Temple March 2, 1945.
Martin dreamed of a big farm, so they moved their family to the Quincy Valley, Washington State in March of 1953. There were no homes available so they lived in a tent. They lived there until the middle of Oct. 1953 when housing became available in Quincy. They moved around until they were able to build a home of their own on their land near George, Washington in 1963. They called the farm Wifeni. They raised 7 sons and each had a beautiful sister.
Lucile was an amazing homemaker. She canned thousands of bottles of fruits and vegetables, made bushels of freezer jam, baked tons of bread, and a few pies. She crocheted, quilted, embroidered, and sewed. She sewed almost everything her family wore. Not to mention actively helping on the farm, hoeing miles of weeds, changing water, rouging wheat and barley, driving many tractors, and she even drove a semi truck. Many a grandchild spent the summer at the farm learning to work alongside grandma.
Lucile is an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served in many callings including Relief Society presidency,  Primary president, and years and years and years of teaching the Blazers (11 year old boys).  She and Martin served a mission to Regina Saskatchewan Canada. They served as temple workers in both the Seattle and Columbia River Temples.
Lucile loved the Savior. Her faith, her family, and friends were very important to her.
She was preceded in death by her sweetheart Martin Degen Bushman Jr., son’s Milo (Sharon and Joel Brown), Ken (Laurie), Wallace (Jeannie), Marion (Sarah),  3 grandkids Nathan, Jacquelyn, Talise, and 1 great-grandchild Jace. She is survived by her daughter Marlue (Dean Perkins),  sons  Earl (Melissa),  Max (Reaka),  Ron (Raquel), 53 grandchildren, 90 great- grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held Monday Nov. 28, 2016 from 6-8 pm at the Russon Brothers Mortuary in Bountiful, Utah. Funeral services will be held Saturday Dec. 3, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the L.D.S Chapel 1102 2nd. Ave. S.E. in Quincy, Washington. A viewing will be held prior to the funeral from 9:00-9:45 a.m.
