Lura Louise Robison

June 15, 1933 — November 23, 2017

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, Lura Louise Nichols Robison, age 84, passed away Thanksgiving Day, November 23, 2017 at her home in Farmington, Utah.  She was born June 15, 1933, the third child of Ezra Lee Nichols and Hulda Louise Clark in Blackfoot, Idaho.  She shared many wonderful memories of her childhood years there with her cousins and extended family.  She grew up in Ogden, Utah and graduated from Ogden High School.  She married Robert W. Robison, they were later divorced. She was a devoted mother to her five children, Denise, Denis, Val, Mitch and Zan as they lived in several states in the west.  They finally settled in Farmington over 30 years ago.   She especially enjoyed camping, water skiing, snow skiing and cooking for her family.

Her family spent many summers making memories at her backyard pool with youth groups, sports teams and friends having fun celebrating birthdays and holidays. Her yearly family Christmas parties were a tradition, highlighted by everyone playing the “right left game”!

She worked and volunteered for many years making treasured friends at Lakeview Hospital, Autumn Glow Senior Center and Abravanel Hall, but her greatest love was for her faith and her family.  She was a faithful member of the Farmington Canyon View Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She loved her Savior and kept her temple covenants and was able to attend all of her grandchildrens’ temple marriages.

She was preceded in death by many loving family members, including her parents, Lee and Hulda, and her sister, Joyce Van Woerkom.  She is survived by her brother Kent (Florence) Nichols, Ogden,Utah, her five children and their spouses, Denise (Robert) Thomas, Centerville, Utah, Denis and Lindee Robison, Layton, Utah, Val and Narlene Robison, North Salt Lake, Utah, Mitch and Deanne Robison, Kaysville, Utah, Zan and Susan Robison, Layton, Utah, 16 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

A Viewing will be held Tuesday, November 28 from 6-8pm at Russon Mortuary, 1941 N. Main Farmington. The Funeral will be held at the Canyon View Ward LDS Chapel 850 N. Compton in Farmington on Wednesday, November 29 at 11am with a Viewing prior to the funeral from 9:30-10:30am.  Interment will be at the Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch Cemetery in Ogden immediately following the service.
