Lynn Bentley

Biography

Lynn Hatch Bentley passed away peacefully at his home in Bountiful, Utah on October 18, 2014. He was born in Mesa, Arizona, to Frank P. Bentley and Verda H. Bentley on December 27, 1937. He was the second of five children. His siblings are Neva B. Pitcher, deceased, Ronald W. Bentley, deceased, R. Brent Bentley, and Judith B. Fornefeld.
Lynn was married to his loving wife, Karen G. Bentley, on April 12, 1957 in the Mesa, Arizona Temple. They were married for 57 years and together raised their seven children: David B Bentley, Deanna Hardison, Dana L. Foster, Darren W. Bentley, S. Douglas Bentley, Duane K. Bentley, and Devin T. Bentley. Lynn moved his family from Glendale, Arizona to Bountiful, Utah where he lived happily for the past 30 years.
He was raised in Phoenix Arizona, and as a young man loved spending his summers on his granddad’s ranch in Safford, Arizona, where he learned many life-lessons. Lynn proudly served in the Arizona National Guard for six years where he distinguished himself as an expert rifleman, winning many awards for his marksmanship in various competitions nationwide.
Lynn loved being an entrepreneur and working in the construction trade, owning and operating several successful businesses including a heating and air conditioning company and a property management company. He was a devout and lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served valiantly in his Priesthood responsibilities. Most of all, Lynn loved his family, the church, and doing good deeds for others.
A viewing will be held from 6 – 8 p.m., Monday, October 20, 2014, at the Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main Street, Bountiful, Utah, and also from 9:45 – 10:45 a.m., Tuesday, October 21, 2014, at the Bountiful 34th Ward building, 540 North 1200 East, Bountiful, Utah. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 South 200 West, Bountiful Utah.
