Lynn Harker Erickson

Lynn H. Erickson “Crossed the Bar” on April 4, 2023, of causes incident to age at the end of a varied if not interesting life.  He was 82 years old.

Lynn was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on September 24, 1940, where he resided for many years prior to moving to Bountiful then Centerville.

Lynn retired from the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve with the rank of Chief Petty Officer in 1995 after honorably serving for 28 years. He retired from Salt Lake City Corporation in 1997 after 27 years of service. And finally, he retired from TSA, Dept. of Homeland Security after six years of service. Prior to commencing work for the City and for a time thereafter, he was engaged in the antique business, his last shop located on Salt Lake City's Main Street just north of 2100 South. He was “Old School” formality to the core, being industrious, conscientious, frugal and proud of possessing a good vocabulary of the English language. Throughout his life
he attempted to live by the Golden Rule; although being human, he by in large succeeded. He was an honest and considerate man, his word his bond.

Lynn enjoyed his periods of solitude and being as one with nature but was equally comfortable in the company of his peers, possessing a dry wit along with the gift of conversation, which he inherited from his mother. In the latter part of his life, he placed great emphasis on good health, striving to keep fit which he did until the day he died; he considered the body the temple of the soul.

A memorial service for Lynn will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at the Centerville 2^nd Ward, 1475 North 50 East, Centerville, Utah.

Immediately following the funeral, a celebration of Lynn's life will be held at the same location.  All who knew him and liked him are invited to attend.  Light refreshments will be served.

Lynn's ashes will be interred in the family plot at the Salt Lake City Cemetery, Park Section.
